I continue to get the message, "Cannot connect to data source DSN, verify ODBC registration in control panel."

Maybe I'm missing something, but it is setup in the odbc registration panel.

Any thoughts?

Are you sure you are an administrator of the computer? Do you get this error when in Lyric? Doing a DB Link? Do you see the ODBC name in there as well as the type of database it is?

Yes, I am indeed logged in as administrator.

This is an error message I receive in Lyric when simply reading in a selection from the lyric browser. 'read', 'read next' and manually selecting the item from the browser with the mouse reproduces this error on most items.

Unfortunately, I don't quite follow on the 'Do you see the ODBC name in there as well.' I can interpret that in several ways, but I would rather have a stronger question to answer.

Feel free to be as technical as you want... I'm not a fan of MS software, but I manage fairly well for a unix guy.

Spoke with Bruce not to long ago.

Initially, it looked like corrupted files, but after further inspection it really looks like the template the file is based off of is not in the db.

It's all somehwat blury because the problem can only be replicated when using templates. New files created do not suffer from the "cannot connect to data dsn" issue.
