Upon recording a message to any drive, the following error appears:

"Exception moving to next Messages record: Error retrieving record"

The message DOES record, however. Operator knows the machine well. He states he did not change any configs but this simply started happening. Same operator built gfx and operated for a game all day yesterday. Built for 4 hours today with no problems and then it started. The error appears no matter which drive you record on. We shut the machine down, pulling power for 10 seconds and rebooted.
Opened MS word, saved a test file to the "I" drive and recalled it proving the drive was fine. Re fired Lyric. Operator attempted to save a message and the error appeared again.

Seems that on record, the canvas advances to the next message number (i.e. if you record at message 50, the canvas will advance to 51 after the record). The error appears when this advance occurs. After clearing the error, the canvas actually DOES advance and the message DOES record. Any ideas? It is not affecting us tonight....so far...and this machine does not have another show for a week or so after tonight so we do have a little time to mess around with it.

Thanks Much!!

Glenn

Try running "LyricUnregister" (located in the Lyric install directory). This will delete all the Lyric registry entries. Re-launching Lyric will re-build those entries.

Be sure to check your hardware settings after you do this, you may have to re-set them back to your specs.

This can also be caused by a corrupt browser (*.mdb). You may be able to repair this by:

START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS > DATA SOURCES (ODBC)

When the ODBC applet appears, select the corrupt browser *.mdb (the one that was giving you the error) and click CONFIGURE. When the next window pops up, click REPAIR. It will then ask you to select the *.mdb's file location. After you click OKAY, it should tell you that the repair was successful.

Try relaunching Lyric. If that doesn't work, you may just have to delete the old MDB and create a new one and repopulate it with fonts, images and messages.
