We recently converted a bunch of flipbooks to AVI's using the converter Greg set up the link to. Now, we're getting stream errors when we play them back. I've increased the message preload time, hoping that might help, but all that seems to do is delay the avi's from starting while not solving the stream error problem. The longer the message preload time is, it seems the longer the delay before it actually starts to play.
Any suggestions?
Oh, and we're using HyperX, version 5.2 build 739.

Hi did you get any answers on the stream error question? I'm having the same problem. When I play a flipbook that I had been working earlier now it says frame 2 stream error.

Flipbooks and movie files are loaded differently in Lyric, that's why your movie files may stream out and your flipbook didn't.
Increasing the message preload time will, by definition, increase the amount of time it takes to load a message. That's normal. The length of your movie file (and number of movie files in your message) will determine how much 'preload' you need to have in any particular message.
To avoid the 'delay' when you trigger your message, turn on 'Prompt To Play On Duet' in your Config>Preferences>Animation menu. Then, when you CNTL>Play, the pre-loading will be done first and a prompt will tell you it is ready to output. Hitting any key at that point will result in an instant playback.
Play with increasing your message preload (Tools>Set Message Preload Time) to find the 'sweet spot' for that particular message. Don't change the setting in your animation preferences...this will only increase the default preload for any future messages you create and will slow down those recalls unnecessarily.
Hope this helps,
Greg

For some reason I get a stream error unless I increase my message pre-laod time to the entire duration of the flipbook which is 2:29. And even when I choose Prompt to Play on Duet my animation will not play. But it worked before.

This is a flipbook that you've converted to a movie file, right? Is it full-screen or cropped? What else is in the message?

Please make sure the movie files are cropped to the correct size. If your flipbooks where let's say 100 x 100 and you broght them onto the screen and then saved them as avi files, the safe title should have been cropped around them and then saved with clip to safe title area checked. Although there is no written rule as to how big in mb, the movie file is, a good number not to exceed is 750 mb. Although you can play bigger ones, the preload time has to be set for longer and then takes longer to get ready for air.
