Guys,
Anyone know on how to insert audio on a lyric sequence? Can it work without the clip player option?
Thank you in advance.

By a Lyric sequence, do you mean a playlist, or do you want to attach it just to a page? Yes you can do it without a clip player, but it requires some creative cabling. You should call tech support for help on that: 631.845.2132

But the long answer is below:
You're talking about option#2
While the following information applies to all users of the aforementioned systems, I am writing this in response to a recent series of calls from trucks regarding packages from two fairly large networks who produce golf shows:
There are TWO ways to add audio to a timeline in Lyric:
1) eFX Panel, 16-bit, 48KHz WAV files play out AES, SDI Embedders or ANALOG outs, depending on desired mix. ALL of those play from the breakout cable on the eFX card. This is the preferred method.
2) In the past, we offered another way of doing audio that we still support for legacy reasons. In the MATROX days, you could open TOOLS > CLIP CONTROL PANEL and add WAV files via AUDIO HARDWARE. In doing this, the audio plays out the mini jack on the back of the PC’s motherboard. It must be up-converted thru a ‘matchbox.’ This is the legacy method (no es bueno).
Basically when an operator is in this situation, there are two choices… either someone can change all the messages’ audio properties to match the standardized eFX/AES playback method, OR the EIC on the trucks can switch the audio sources on the Chyron between shows.
Technically there’s a double secret third option, but it's a bad idea, I won't expound on that.
Now, you may be thinking, "Gee, Marty, is there an easy way to tell which method was used in creating the pages I'm using?" I say to you, "But of course!"
If the WAV files have NOT been renamed on the SceneGraph then the happy WAV files will be called 'eFX Clip,' and the angry WAV files will be called 'Audio Clip.' In the event they have been renamed on the SceneGraph, right-clicking on the audio node on the SceneGraph will offer the happy WAV the option of 'eFX Properties' and the angry WAV the option of 'Clip Control Panel.' I hope all this information helps you and your EIC.

hi,
I add the audio clip to the time line from the clip control panel but i still can't hear the audio when i play out on the timeline. Is there any steps that I missed? Btw, does it need the clip player option?

What kind of file is it? Are the PC speaker hooked up? Is the PC audio muted? Can I webex into your system via the internet and try to troubleshoot?

Hi Marty,
I managed to get it running.... it was the audio path in Lex that I forgot to put the audio clip in.... it's working properly now.
Thank you for your help.
Cheers
