Strange Characters

We have recently upgraded to Lyric 5.2 (build 725) and have now gotten some seriously weird text characters when using a template. It appears as though the characters are from the ASCII character map because when the cursor is on the character the bar on the bottom of the screen says "u+114". Anyone else seeing anything like this?
