I have a font that I'd like to import into my 2D Font List. It's a True Type font. Do I go to preferences and then import there? How do I import this font and then where do I find it once I import it?

Thanks!

Do it through windows.
Start, control panel, fonts. File, install new font. Relaunch Lyric. Should be there...

Load that font into the Windows font folder (C:\Windows\Fonts) and you should see that font in the Properties box in lyric in the drop down window. Go to the 2d font tab. Then when you see it listed, you can give it whatever properties you want (shadow, edge) and then hit apply...it will then import it into your current browser!

I installed a new font through the control panel like you had mentioned. The font shows up in Word and other programs but lyric still doesnt see it. I have re launched lyric and even rebooted the Duet and still no luck. Any ideas?

I have come across this issue with a customer. The problem was that the font she wanted to see was part of another family of similar fonts, and it overrode whatever font she was trying to import. My suggestion is if there are other fonts that look like they are in the same font family, remove them, then re-import the font you wanted to use, then re-import the other fonts you had removed.

I hope this makes sense  Let me know if not. :)

I'm still having the same problem, I've installed the fonts I can use them in any other program but for some reason they do not show up in lyric. I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work but with no success. Please help.

First off, it HAS to be a True Type font to be available to Lyric. If it's a Postscript font, it will work with other Windows apps, but will not appear in the list in Lyric.

Liz is right...it could be getting overridden by an existing font family. Try re-saving the font as another, totally new font. There's font conversion utilities out there, but I've recently had some success with Font Creator. Try the demo version first...check it out at

The purchase price is pretty reasonable...I think its $79 for the home version and $149 for the pro. Make sure you change the font format (Format>Naming) and the font family etc. Remove any mention of the 'former' font, and it should work fine.
