Hello! We're considering the purchase of a Duet-series CG for our truck, which is primarily used for sports production. I've got a question about the macro/scripting capabilities of Lyric... On our current CG, I've programmed a series of macros which allow the operator to "keep score" during a game by adjusting a series of variables. Our score pages all reference the set of variables, making updates across multiple pages a non-issue.

My question to you is, can Lyric be programmed in a similar fashion? I've read the thread about using DB-link, and while that would suit our end result, I'd like to aviod using an external application if possible. Thanks in advance!

Greetings this is my 2nd post. Is there a way of having more than one mask in use? I would like to make an OTS with a semi transparent ribbon over the shot of the anchor and have a shaped box with a picture or graphic depicting what she is talking about. That is going to be two keys and 2 masks. Could someone help me. Thanks.

pmisisco....

The answer is yes, you can program Lyric to respond this way. It would be done using a Macro which would increase by whatever variable you create. For example, for basketball you can create macros using variables that will increase the score by either one, two or three points.

Lyric's macro language is visual basic, a language with which many people are already familiar.

You can download the Lyric help file off our website and look at the sections on macro scripting. Go to our website, select 'support' and then 'documentation'. There's a link there for you to download the Lyric help file.

Depending on how you want this to work, you may not have to use masks at all. As for the semi-transparent ribbon, you'd just create that with an alpha channel that feathers the transparency. As for the shaped box, you could also just create that in photoshop with the appropriate alpha channel.

Yes, you can have multiple masks in a single messasge, but in your application it would just be making it more complicated than it needs to be.
