Hi everyone. I'm a student at Kent State University, and I'm getting highly involved in this crazy world of Chyron. We're working right now on Lyric 6.5, and will soon be upgrading to Lyric 7.
I'm focusing on our sports productions mainly right now, which is also what I'm asking for help on, specifically basketball.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to get data from a Daktronics scoreboard system into Lryic to at least operate the game and shot clocks on our foxbox, and if possible the scores as well. Our Daktronics rep mentioned that we could pull the data from the system via data line (I believe ethernet) as long as it was set up using a UDP network setup, or something like that. I know it's definitely possible, because ESPNU just came and did a game this weekend, and used the same network connection to make their score bar run their score and clocks, though I have no idea what kind of hardware they were running that with. If anyone can enlighten me on how we could get the clocks working, that would be fantastic! Thanks!
