Just came up today. How does one get a tilda over a character using a template? Couldn't find an answer in the help file.

The easiest way is with Alt-Keystrokes... You hold alt down and type in a 4 digit number sequence on the number pad. For example to get an "Ñ" you would be Alt+0209 or a "ñ" is Alt+0241... Incidentally this works in most any Windows app (including this HTML text field) as long as the special character is included in the Font you are currently using... Some more useful ones... bullet (•) is Alt+0149... em dash (—) is Alt+0151... copyright (©) is Alt+0169... British pound (£) is Alt+0163... Also important... you do need to include any leading zero - Alt+149 is not the same as Alt+0149!
Here's an online cheatsheet with even more combinations you can bookmark it or print it out. You'll find you start to remember the ones you use frequently though:
